J & S Vicary provide a fast, professional wood chipping service using our fleet of tractor-driven Jenz HEM 583 Z, 593 Z and 841 Z drum chippers. Whatever the size of the job, we have the right machine for it. We chip timber, whole trees and brash, producing high-quality biomass fuel to suit your boiler. G30, G50 and G100 chip sizes are available. Our chippers feature large screen areas for a consistent, high-quality chip, and hydraulically driven blowers that load chipped material directly into waiting lorries or trailers, saving time and handling on site.
J & S Vicary offer a specialist shredding service using our Jenz BA 926 shredder. Built to handle tough, bulky and mixed material that is unsuitable for chipping, it is ideal for clearing waste wood quickly and efficiently. We shred roots, stumps, bark, offcuts, pallets and green waste, reducing large volumes of awkward material into a manageable product that can be used as low grade biomass. It is a cost effective way to deal with waste wood from site clearances, demolition and land management work.
J & S Vicary offer a complete site clearance service, including tree felling, vegetation clearance, stump removal and mulching. Our highly trained team work quickly and safely to deliver every project on time, on budget and to specification. With our own excavators, tree shears, woodcrackers, chipping machines, shredding machines and tracked mulchers, we handle the entire clearance ourselves, with no need for other contractors. We hold Alcumus SafeContractor accreditation, and risk assessments, method statements, machinery test certificates and team competence certificates are available for every project. Full traceability for all cleared material is provided as standard.
J & S Vicary have extensive experience in clear fell harvesting and thinning, working for commercial and private landowners as well as timber marketing companies. Our specialist equipment allows us to harvest large areas of woodland quickly while maintaining the highest safety standards. Tree shears, harvesting machines and strong, nimble Komatsu forwarders keep ecological impact to a minimum, and our low ground pressure machinery makes thinning efficient while protecting the forest floor. Safety comes first in everything we do. Our team complete regular skills training to maintain their competence, J & S Vicary is a registered member of the Forest Industry Safety Accord (FISA), and all our employees hold Emergency First Aid at Work + Forestry certificates. J & S Vicary offer large scale mulching using our FAE PrimeTech tracked mulcher. Purpose built for land clearing, its steel tracks handle rough and steep terrain with ease, while strong carbide teeth make light work of dense vegetation and even the toughest trees. Mulching is ideal for clearing land for construction, creating pasture, conservation work and forestry clearance. All vegetation is returned to the ground as mulch, leaving the area clear and accessible in a single pass. It is a fast, efficient and environmentally friendly way to clear land. Ground disturbance is kept to a minimum, and the layer of mulch left behind helps protect the topsoil from erosion.
Using our motorised cone splitter, we crack oversized timber into manageable pieces ready for further processing. The powerful rotating cone splits even knotty and twisted wood with ease, turning awkward timber that would otherwise go to waste into a valuable resource. Large butts and difficult pieces that are too big or too irregular for standard processing equipment can be quickly broken down, ready for firewood processing or chipping. This means more of every tree is put to good use, with less waste and greater efficiency on every job.
